Saying Goodbye

This was one of the hardest things I have done in my life.  Saying good by to my amazing family, boyfriend and friends.  It hurts just writing about it.  But like a wise man once told me, “10 months is just a drop in the bucket”.  This experience will soon feel like a small part of my life with a huge impact. The things that I will learn and experience while in Argentina will be well worth the sacrifice of leaving my great life in Fort Collins.

I would like to thank anyone who is reading this for their love and support with my journey this year.  Remember that I love and miss all of you just as much as you do for me.

It’s so surreal that I am doing this, see you on the flip side.

Introduction

Hello everyone! My name is Ben Martella and this is my blog I am keeping for my Rotary exchange to Argentina.  Here you will find weekly updates of my 10 month experience in Chivilcoy, Argentina.  I will try my best to translate each post into Spanish for all of my Argentinean friends!

Just a brief summary of my 10 months here:

I will be living with 3 host families in Chivilcoy, Argentina going to a private Catholic high school.  No, this is not a 5th year of high school or a trip I am taking to party everyday, this is Youth Rotary International Exchange Program.  Yes, I will be attending high school while living with a host family as well as an ambassador for the United States.  I will be traveling twice during my stay in Argentina, once to the North of Argentina to see Iguaza Falls and another to the South to visit Patagonia.  I couldn’t be more excited to share this experience with all of you.

Adios for now

Ben
